The oldest Bulgarian Black Sea resort combines first-class comfort with natural abundance and intelligent entertainment. Here, summer is not just a vacation—it’s a refined experience for people who know how to recognize quality and seek meaningful ways to spend their time.

Here’s what’s coming up in July and August at some of the resort’s emblematic locations.

At the Astor Garden Hotel, you’ll meet the same smiling faces as last summer; the atmosphere remains dignified and serene even at the height of the season, and the Monty restaurant is, as usual, at the highest level. The hit for gourmets will undoubtedly be the restaurant’s new tasting menu—terroir-driven and perfectly paired with wine. Just a hint—grilled turbot Varna-style, mussels from Galata, pink tomatoes from Kavarna…

You can order it on its own or with the corresponding wines—the flavor fireworks in the pairing are thanks to head chef Stanislav Petkov and wine connoisseur Todor Petronov. If you still need a special occasion to try it, the first is on 17 July, when the renowned journalist and traveler Georgi Milkov will present his new book “Rhinoceros in the Bathroom” at Astor Garden. After the presentation—dinner at Monty—does that sound like the perfect combination?

It is. And it’s not the only one at Astor Garden this summer. On 5 August, a magnificent musical evening awaits you in the hotel’s rose garden—under the open sky, with the natural accompaniment of the fountain, featuring the virtuoso Mario Hossen and world-renowned soloists.

On 24 July, at the new moon, a three-day astro retreat is coming up—because summer is also a time to slow down and dive within, and what better place than the silence of the sea, the softness of the sand, and the embrace of the sea breeze. If you prefer a more party-ready rhythm, every evening at Astor Garden you can enjoy live music by talented local performers.

Summer wouldn’t be the same without at least a sip of that unforgettable boho vibe you remember from the Cactus Beach Bar on the beach by the Ensana Aquahouse hotel. This season it’s now called Cactus Beach Bar & Bites, because in addition to brightly colored cocktails it also offers bites with a Greek touch—fresh, light, and perfect for a day at the beach. Weekend evenings on the sand in front of the bar shift the tone—DJ parties with seaside favorites DJ Matizze, Smooth, and Dan Tanev.

And if you want the perfect summer for all the senses, the place is Villa Chinka. Few places deserve more the label “for connoisseurs”—of discreet luxury, monumental beauty, and impeccable cuisine. The news here is the new menu, which once again blends sophistication, simplicity, and seasonality in a very delicious way. You’ll be amazed by the variety of tartares and carpaccios, the exceptional taste of the fresh pasta, the richness of the sea on your plate, and of course—not at all least—by the fact that the turbot soup is still the best made anywhere.
