The oldest Bulgarian seaside resort, Sts Constantine and Helena, welcomes participants to the VI Plein Air "Touch of Nature" 2023 - painting competition. The cultural event will take place from September 11th to September 20th, 2023, in the city of Varna, at Constantine and Helena Resort.
The VI Plein Air "Touch of Nature" 2023 gathers talented artists from all over Bulgaria who will create art in an open-air setting, using acrylic and oil paints in a real environment, expressing their artistic emotion, drawing ideas and inspiration directly from nature. The plein air has a specific thematic orientation aimed at demonstrating, through art and through the various creative interpretations of the authors, the connection between the sea, the land, and the people.
The purpose of the Plein Air is to become a meeting place, a space for experimentation, and a creative environment for authors of different generations, to offer guests from the country and abroad aesthetic enjoyment through fine arts, to establish itself as a location that contributes to the development of cultural tourism in the Varna region, and to create new audiences.
The organizers from the "Sts. Konstantin and Elena" Foundation have created suitable conditions for the participants, providing accommodation, workspaces, materials, and necessary support. As a supporting event during the VI Plein Air "Touch of Nature," practical training will be provided for painting techniques with students from the National School of Arts "Dobri Hristov" in Varna.
The completed artworks created during the plein air will be exhibited in Sts. Constantine and Helena from September 21st to September 25th and in the Grafitt Gallery, Varna from September 27th to October 7th.
The oldest Bulgarian seaside resort celebrates its 115th anniversary this year, and during the exhibition of plein air artworks, a photo exhibition "Sts. Konstantin and Elena over the years - history and current life" will also be presented.
The cultural event is organized by the Sts. Constantine and Helena Foundation with the financial support of Varna Municipality through the "Culture" Fund and "Sveti Sveti Konstantin i Elena Holding" AD.
